Beyond Belief

Every Wednesday we’ll post something to do with doctrine and purity. Hope it helps. --- Beyond Belief Words lose their original meaning through the ‘watering down’ process of misuse and redefinition. (“Christian” “ love” and “relationship” are a few that come to mind.) So it is with the word “believer.” In the New Testament it was used in reference to people who both believed in Christ and were committed to Him. When you regularly give in to sexual sin, you in essence “go with the flow” of the world, the flesh and even Satan. No contest there - you surrendered. Paul describes this surrender pretty well to the Ephesians when he refers to their past: “Wherein in time Continue Reading

Hand/eye coordination didn’t come naturally to me, and I’ve never been quick, so strike outs and missed catches were a problem. I could manage a football pretty well, and I blocked and tackled better than most. Still, baseball eluded me. Yet there I was, season after season, wearing a little league uniform. I liked the status. I liked saying “I’m a ball player.” I loved the camaraderie of the team, and the social privileges it brought. I liked Continue Reading
